UAPA’s Asphalt Preservation Course provides a clear, practical overview of pavement preservation and maintenance strategies designed to help communities and organizations extend the life of asphalt. This class focuses on the most cost-effective approach to pavement management: keeping good roads in good condition by identifying early signs of distress and applying the right treatment at the right time.

Presented in an interactive lecture and discussion format, the course allows attendees to ask questions related to their specific pavement challenges. Industry experts will explain why asphalt pavements deteriorate, how to evaluate different types and levels of distress, and which proven preservation treatments and repair practices are most appropriate.

Participants will gain foundational knowledge of preservation systems, proactive maintenance practices, and strategies that help prevent costly pavement failure. By following preservation standards, agencies and owners can stretch limited budgets, maintain more miles of roadway, and improve the long-term performance of their asphalt infrastructure.

The course is intended for municipalities, counties, contractors, producers, property managers, school districts, developers, homeowner associations, churches, and anyone responsible for asphalt roads or parking lots. Through UAPA’s collective industry knowledge, attendees will leave better prepared to make informed maintenance decisions that protect pavement investments and support safer, longer-lasting infrastructure.

Note taking is encouraged.  A test is required for certification. Please bring paper and pen.
